The Nippon Sport Science University, or Nittaidai, will be holding a kendo practice session and a traditional Japanese martial arts demonstration, which will showcase kendo, judo, karate, sumo, shorinji kempo, etc. We are all invited to participate in those sessions. Following the Nittaidai visit in the past days, we are very fortunate to have another group of Japanese university kendo delegation visit us in Sydney next month.
An 18-strong Kanto University Kendo Federation (関東学生剣道連盟) visiting delegation (12 men + 6 ladies) will come to Sydney on the weekend of 6th and 7th March, 2010 for two sessions of kendo keiko with the local kendoka. Details are as follow:

Training Venue: Willoughby Council have advised that the renovations on Willoughby Park Centre are progressing well. They hope to provide a status update early next week detailing when the renovations will be complete. At this stage they will hopefully be completed by the 16th May. A further update will be provided early next week.
Quarterly Fees: A number of members have still not paid their quarterly fees for the Apr-June quarter. If your fees are outstanding, could you please ensure you pay them in the next week?

Follow This Simple 3 Step Process Now

Founders Cup will be held on the 7th and 8th of August 2010:
The weekend will involve a teams competition and a grading. Further
details are yet to be announced.
To enter the competition, follow these simple steps:
1. Attend the team try-outs on Saturday 31st July 2010 at Willoughby training.
2. If successful, submit personal details to Luke Lee (President) before leaving training.
3. Pay $35 (includes lunch) on the day of competition at the registration desk.
4. Win, and achieve immortal glory.
To take grading, follow these simple steps:

Maki Sensei (牧 先生) - Women Kendo Keiko: Wednesday, 11 Aug 2010, 7:30pm - 9:00pm
Maki Miho Sensei, Renshi 6 Dan, will be conducting a women's kendo seminar this Wednesday night at SKC Willoughby dojo. We welcome all female kendo players of all levels to participate!
There will still be normal training for guys. Just that the girls will have a special ladies kendo seminar at the same time.
